I love graffiti, I love how bold and subtle it can be at the same time. You can walk by it and never realize it's even there or it will hit you as soon as you see it. It's the kind of the art you actually appreciate but are too afraid to admit it because it can be seen as "untraditional" or merely as "street art". The fundamentals of graffiti are words/tagging - calligraphy. Calligraphy has always been at the heart of of Islamic art.
eL Seed is a graffiti artist who bringing back Arabic calligraphy in a modern form. eL Seed's art has been featured at the Islamic Arts Festival in Sharjah and at Calligraffiti event at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha. His work captures the bold and subtle qualities that I love about graffiti and pushes the boundaries with his dynamic short films.

The amazing BurJuman will be donating 2000 vouchers to women in the UAE for a free mammogram. Mammograms help detect breast cancer as well as other complications and are important to keeping women healthy. Tests will take place at Al Zahra Hospital and the Canadian Specialist Hospital. The vouchers entitling nominated women to a free check-up will be handed out at the ‘Free Mammogram Camp’ held at BurJuman on October 22, from 12 noon to 8pm.

Our favorite designer, Lamis Khamis, invited us to visit her London studio over the weekend. We fell in love with the creative space, white brick walls (that seemed to reach the sky they were so high), jars filled with candy, the cutest most well behaved poodle and of course, Lamis Khamis clothes!
We've been wearing Lamis Khamis clothes since 2006, so we were ecstatic to see where the creativity happens. We also got a sneak peak of new designs and all we can say is, LUSH!!
We can't wait to go back!
